Before you install

Back up first. Copy your Machine Party install folder somewhere else, or note that you can restore it through Steam.
Install the mod loader. Nothing else loads without it.
Add one mod at a time. If something breaks you will know which one did it.
Expect patches to break things. The game has shipped 5 updates since launch. After each one, remove mods before assuming the game itself is broken.

Removing mods and getting back to vanilla

The mod loader handles its own uninstallation. If you are troubleshooting a crash, go further: remove the mods folder entirely, then use Steam's “verify integrity of game files” to restore anything that was changed. Do this before reporting a bug to the developers — they support the unmodded game.
