What the wording tells us
What is measured is the moment you throw: the timer has to read under one second as it leaves you.
The wording says nothing about the outcome — it does not require you to survive the round or for the throw to reach anyone.
"The device" is the object the round is built around; the official Spanish text for this achievement calls it "la mecacriatura", a mechanical creature, where the English only says device.
What players report
CommunityCommunity guides, not official material.
Both guides describe a spider-like robot that latches on and counts down, and both frame the round as hot potato — while the timer runs it can be thrown to someone else.
What the official text does not say
Community accounts do not settle these — they are gaps in the official wording, and we would rather name them than fill them in.
- The official text does not say whether the throw has to actually transfer the device to another player.
Worth knowing before you try
- This one depends on another player being in a particular state or being the target of your action, so it cannot be set up alone.
- Local sessions played before 2026-08-13 may not have registered this achievement — registration in Local mode was broken until v2.1.1.
